Residence permit
a) Application for temporary residence for the purpose of:

Exemption from fees at the Foreign Police
1. Persons applying for family reunification with an asylum seeker or a foreigner who has been granted subsidiary protection are exempt from the fees according to letters a) and d) of this item.
2. Teachers and university professors are exempt from fees according to letters a), b), d), and e) of this item.
3. Persons under 18 years of age are exempt from the fees according to letters a), c), d), i), and j) of this item.
4. Interns granted a scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic, or scholarships arising from obligations from international treaties, as well as foreign language lecturers coming to schools in Slovakia based on obligations from international treaties, are exempt from the fees according to letters a) and d) of this item.
5. Persons according to § 43 paragraph 1 letter a) of Act No. 404/2011 Coll. are exempt from the fees according to letter c) of this item.
6. Persons who:
- a) apply for a new residence document because the records in it do not correspond to reality due to a reason beyond the applicant’s control (e.g., change of the name of a municipality, street, or its numbering), or
- b) apply for a residence document for the first time as foreigners who have been granted asylum or foreigners who have been granted subsidiary protection, are exempt from the fee according to letter f) of the first point of this item.
7. Persons applying for tolerated residence according to § 58 paragraph 1 letters a) and c) and paragraph 2 of Act No. 404/2011 Coll. are exempt from the fees according to letters i) and j) of this item.
8. Persons who have been granted tolerated residence according to § 58 paragraph 1 letter c) and paragraph 2 of Act No. 404/2011 Coll. are exempt from the fee according to letter l) of this item.
9. The following persons are exempt from the fees according to letters l) to n) of this item:
- a) Persons granted tolerated residence according to § 58 paragraph 1 letter a) or those residing in the territory of the Slovak Republic according to § 61a paragraph 1 letter a) of Act No. 404/2011 Coll.,
- b) Persons who are to be issued a foreigner’s passport according to § 74 paragraph 2 letters b) and c) of Act No. 404/2011 Coll.,
- c) Persons who have been granted subsidiary protection according to Act No. 480/2002 Coll. on asylum and amending certain laws, as amended.
Item 26 – Visas
- a) Issuance of a visa at the border crossing: 60 EUR
- b) Extension of a short-term visa in the territory of the Slovak Republic: 30 EUR
Exemptions
- Foreigners exempt from the fee under point a) of this item are exempt under special regulation.
- Family members of EU citizens are exempt from the fee under this item.
- Family members of Slovak citizens are exempt from the fee under this item to the extent of family members of EU citizens as per the second point.
- Foreigners who come to the Slovak Republic at the invitation or with the consent of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, the President of the Slovak Republic, and the Government of the Slovak Republic are exempt from the fee under point a) of this item.
- Foreigners who have applied for an extension of a short-term visa due to a natural disaster or for humanitarian reasons are exempt from the fee under point b) of this item.
Authorization
The competent authority may reduce or waive the fee for justified reasons of public interest or humanitarian reasons; for reasons of reciprocity, the fee may be increased or reduced.
Item 27 – Verification of Invitation
Application for the verification of an invitation for a foreigner to travel to the Slovak Republic, for each foreigner mentioned in the application for the verification of the invitation: 33 EUR
Note
The competent authority will not collect the fee under this item for the invitation of a person under the age of sixteen.
Exemptions
Persons inviting a third-country national to the territory of the Slovak Republic who will engage in activities arising from the programs of the Government of the Slovak Republic or the European Union, or to fulfill the obligations of the Slovak Republic arising from an international treaty, are exempt from the fee under this item.
