Apostille / Legalization of documents

Superlegalization (higher verification) is needed for all other countries.

The apostille is issued in the official language of the country of issue of the document, therefore an official translation of the document is usually required for use abroad, which we can also provide for you.

We provide an apostille for personal documents – ID cards, passports, technical cards, driver license or other personal documents.

Our law firm provide apostilles, in addition to other registration documents, birth certificates issued in the Slovak Republic as well as a certificate of citizenship. We will also provide an apostille for confirmation of personal status.

The apostille proves the credibility of the notary who verified the signature. The document must be signed directly by the notary or notary candidate. It is not possible to apostille the verification if the certification clause has been signed by another notary employee.

Often people who have studied in Slovakia need to use their proof of education abroad. For this purpose, the institutions in the above countries require proof of a diploma, or a diploma supplement, the so-called apostilles.

To use an extract from the business register abroad, an apostille is required, which consists of three parts certificate of incorporation, certificate of good standing and notarized certificates of the list of managers.

An extract from the criminal record is issued either at the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Slovak Republic or at a branch of Slovenská pošta. Subsequently, the document can be apostilized. It is not possible to apostate a certified photocopy of the statement, but always only the original.

If the client is interested, we can also provide him with an official translation of the criminal record into the language of the country in which he wants to use the document. We can also arrange a translator’s certificate.

A public document issued by the tax office for use abroad is the so-called certificate of tax residence.
