Registration of foreigners in Slovakia in the Commercial Register

A natural person with permanent residence outside the territory of the Slovak Republic (foreigner) may do business in the Slovak Republic under the same conditions and in the same extent as Slovak person.

Issue of Certificate on Small Businesses (a foreign entity)

A foreigner individual is entitled to file a notification of trade to the appropriate Trade Licensing Office. The notification shall be made on the prescribed form.

Authorization of foreigner – an individual resident outside the European Union Member State or Member State of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development – to operate in the territory of the Slovak Republic arises by registration in the Commercial Register.

Application for registration of foreigner natural person (a foreign entity) in the Commercial Register shall be submitted on form no. 15.

Registration of foreigner in the Commercial Register – fees

With effect from 1.1.2014 the fee for registration of foreigner (natural person) in the Commercial Register increases to € 165.50. In case the application is made electronically, the fee is halved (€ 82.75).

Registration of foreigner in the Commercial Register – deadline for decision

The Commercial Register has a deadline for decision within 2 working days from the application and payment of court fee.
